Streaming and Progressive FLV Player 4.1 script description:

Publisher review:
Streaming and Progressive FLV Player provides you the most efficient and flexible way to add streaming or progressive video to your website. Streaming & Progressive FLV Player provides you the most efficient and flexible way to add streaming or progressive video to your website.

This player loads an external XML playlist that makes it easy to change your video files, titles, and thumbnails without Flash authoring software. Special features of this player include the scrollable thumbnail playlist, hyperlinked videos, progressive and streaming FLV playback, bandwidth profiling, and FlashVars support.

If you own Flash authoring software (MX 2004, 8, or CS3), you can use these packages to create your own custom video player (source codes available).

Features:
- Server Requirements: This player supports FLV files hosted on Flash Media servers and standard web servers (e.g. Windows and Linux).
- Single FLV, XML, and FlashVars Options: This player can utilize an external XML playlist that provides video location, order, title, length, thumbnail location, and hyperlink. You can also specify a single FLV if you do not wish to use the XML playlist. FlashVars can be used to specify the path to the XML or single FLV, which is ideal for dynamic websites.
- FLA and SWF files: Both the Developer and Flash Pro packages include 3 different Titanium skin layouts in SWF and FLA formats: 320x240 with playlist (shown above; 4:3 aspect), 400x300 w/o playlist (shown below; 4:3 aspect), and 480x270 w/o playlist (shown below; 16:9 aspect). The published SWF files have a small footprint (13-63 kb SWF files), are ready for immediate use, and you can set the "bgcolor" parameter in the embed scripts to match your site (see screenshots below). The FLA files can be used to customize the size, color scheme, layout, and functionality of the Titanium players (Flash MX 2004, 8, or CS3 authoring software required).
- Macromedia Approved Components (MXP): Both the Developer and Flash Pro packages include an approved Macromedia Extension Package (MXP) that can be installed in your copy of Flash MX 2004, 8, or CS3. The MXP installs 3 separate compiled components (display, playlist, and minimal controller) that can be loaded on the stage to quickly build a custom FLV player. These components are used as the basis for the Titanium player included in this package (e.g. the player above uses the compiled display and playlist components, and an uncompiled set of custom controls); and they can be configured using parameters that are set within your Flash MX 2004, 8, or CS3 authoring software (see documentation for list of configurable parameters). A CSS stylesheet is used to control the appearance of all text appearing in the playlist component.
- Source Codes: The Flash Pro package includes all of the Action Script and FLA source codes for the compiled components, which are required to change the core functionality of the display, playlist, and minimal controller components.
- Support: Comprehensive support and custom development services are available for this product.
